Global brand manufacturer, top ten in their sector, has an immediate requirement for an Electrical Design Engineer to join them on site in Motherwell, their Scottish Head Quarters. This engineering and manufacturing business is constantly striving to be at the forefront of technology in its field and the Motherwell operation comprises design (mother design centre), test, manufacture and sales. Their technical expertise and reputation for excellence has ensured they operate internationally with diverse portfolio of clients. Due to a period of unprecedented activity the business is now looking for additional technical expertise to help support the innovative design team and existing products.
Reporting to the Product Manager you will be responsible for helping to drive innovation and change for a range of three products in Motherwell, but also to work with 3 other European Head Quarters to help incite change in other product ranges to drive the brand’s technology offerings forward for customers across the globe. Working closely with all other engineering teams you will be responsible for taking new requests, along with functionality issues direct from the customer and resolving these with fully designed electrical solutions.
The successful candidate will likely have a strong background in Electrical design engineering, working ideally on capital equipment e.g. agricultural/construction/military or offshore equipment. You will also have a degree or HNC/D in a related engineering discipline. In order to quickly add value to projects, the ideal candidate will likely have previous experience of CAN BUS panels and programming systems within a design/manufacturing environment. You will be supported by and on site technical expert, who can help to bring you up to speed and help out with key projects, however the organisation is ideally looking for a technically gifted and passionate individual who can bring some real enthusiasm and blue sky thinking to the role.
